As of March 1, Albright Care Services’ LIFE Lancaster County site, a community-based long- term care program, has permanently expanded its service area to include a portion of Chester County.
Albright LIFE (Living Independently for Elderly) Lancaster County has extended its current border to include Coatesville in the 19320 zip code, which had previously been serviced by Genesis Healthcare. LIFE service areas are typically organized by county, but an exception was made by the Department of Human Services in order to cover areas of Chester County that have the greatest need.
Albright LIFE is an innovative program for seniors that enables them to continue living at home by addressing their increasing healthcare needs. LIFE provides a nursing home level of care, but in an outpatient setting. Participants are picked up from home in the morning, receive clinical care at Albright’s day center, and returned home in the evening. At the LIFE center, participants benefit from coordinated medical care, a wide range of therapies, meals and snacks, medicine management and social interaction through group activities. Since opening in 2008, Albright LIFE Lancaster has helped more than 180 seniors age at home, and saved county tax payers over $1.5 million.
The Albright LIFE site provides services for individuals who are 55 or older, able to live safely in the community with services provided by LIFE, and have been determined to meet the eligibility requirements established by the Area Agency on Agency.
In addition to Lancaster County, Albright Care Services also owns and operates LIFE sites in Lycoming/Clinton and Lebanon Counties, as well as RiverWoods Senior Living Community in Lewisburg and Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community in York.
