Centennial Celebration at LIFE Lancaster

Albright LIFE Lancaster Centennial

Albright Care Services recently celebrated its centennial anniversary at its Albright LIFE Lancaster Center, an adult care center at 417 W. Frederick St.  A program and refreshments were hosted to celebrate Albright’s 100 years of service in the region and thank community partners and staff for making LIFE Lancaster’s 2009 opening possible, as well as honor charter participants. Local historian Randy Harris presented the history of the brick building  that houses the care center, the former Henry Martin Brick Machine Manufacturing Company and General Cigar Company, and discussed the Underground Railroad in Lancaster County. Pictured front row, from left, are LIFE Lancaster participants Essie Anderson, Georgina Westerband, Bernice Wright, Patricia Fasnacht and Jacquelyn Backer, all charter participants in the program, as well as Mildred Borden and Charles Williams (not pictured). Back row, from left, are John McDonough, associate director of LIFE programs and operations; Lori Brandt, LIFE director of outreach; Mitzi Dye, community outreach coordinator of LIFE Programs; Shaun Smith, president and chief executive officer of Albright Care Services.
